内容簡介
《環境工程專業英語》是環境工程專業的學生在學習了大學的基礎英語知識,并掌握了一定的專業知識的基礎之上,為提高學生閱讀專業科技英語文獻、了解國外先進專業知識水平及動态為目的而設置的一門課程。該課程系統地學習了環境學概論、大氣、水、固廢、土壤等環境學理論的專業英語文章,涵蓋環境要素、環境治理等多個方面。本課程以環境學概論、大氣、水、固廢、土壤等環境學理論的專業詞彙、閱讀理解、翻譯為重點,将英語知識與環境學科專業知識結合起來,為後續的科研文獻閱讀和畢業設計/論文寫作建立基礎。

教學大綱說明
一、教學目的、課程性質及教學任務與其他課程的關系,所需先修課程。
本課程是環境工程專業限選課。我國對環境保護工作日益重視,可持續發展的政策逐步深入人心,國家對環保投資力度不斷加大,帶動了環保産業和相關空間發展。本課程反映了當前國際環境科學與工程發展的最新前沿内容和研究成果。課程任務是為提高學生閱讀專業科技英語文獻、了解國外先進專業知識水平及動态為以後專業課程的學習打下良好基礎。需要學生先修大學英語、環境學、水污染控制工程類課程。
二、教學要求及選編教材的依據。
總的教學要求是:
能夠掌握環境保護的基礎知識和基本原理,較全面地了解環境科學與工程學科的内容和發展趨勢。提高學生閱讀與專業有關的文獻和獲取信息的能力,能夠順利閱讀英文版環境科技讀物,熟悉環境科學與工程專業英語交流表達方式。使學生具備一定的翻譯能力(含英譯漢、漢譯英),為以後的學術交流活動打下堅實的基礎,并為學生後面畢業論文的撰寫提供支撐。能夠多層次,多角度了解全球環境科學與工程方面的信息,把握國内外環境科技進展動态,更大程度地豐富學生的專業知識。
選用教材依據:
張穎主編的環境科學與工程專業英語是全國高等農林院校“十一五”規劃教材。在内容選材上,本教材充分注重專業領域的覆蓋面,不僅涉及了環境科學與工程的基本原理與方法,包括大氣、水體、土壤、固體廢棄物、噪聲、能源以及相關的污染防治技術,同時還涵蓋了生态學、可持續發展理論、環境影響評價和環境管理的相關知識。力求能體現出系統性、先進性、代表性、新穎性和實用性的特點,突出*進展,便于讀者更好地掌握。注重學科交叉,力求深入淺出,除可滿足課堂教學所需外,兼有提供課外閱讀材料的功能。書中對課文的一些較難的句子和段落予以注釋,同時對一些專業詞彙和術語進行總結,使讀者能更快擴展專業詞彙。書後的單詞表對本書中的專業詞彙進行了總體編排,便于檢索與記憶。
三、教學環節和教學方法。
本課程是一門專業限選課,重點講授《環境工程專業英語》的詞彙與句式。課堂教學采用任務驅動式教學,由教師确定主題内容、布置任務,由學生自主搜集資料,學習彙總,在課上由教師和其他學生提問,由學生主講并作答。有條件時利用移動教學平台,以學習通為教學軟件,由教師發布考題,學生在課後答題,加強對課程中重點、難點的掌握。
